Despite being a valued member of Fabio Capello`s World Cup squad, Michael Carrick is finding it hard to make in-roads into becoming a regular starter at Old Trafford.

Carrick, yet to force his way into a central midfield berth where Paul Scholes and Darren Fletcher seem well set, has spoken about his dilemma, to the media, but appears at ease with the problem and keen to remain patient, commenting,

“It`s obviously frustrating not playing, but it`s a long season and I`m well aware of how strong a squad we`ve got.”

“It`s about being patient and trying to force my way back into the team.”

“It`s going to be tough, it is every year but that`s the challenge and that`s why we`re all at a club like United.”

Like Michael has said, it`s a long season and with two veterans vying for a regular place in Giggs and Scholes, we`re sure Carrick will get his chance sooner rather than later.
