Following on from the recent shenanigans in the Rooney household, Sir Alex Ferguson, according to a leading Sunday tabloid, has decreed that there`ll be no Christmas party this year.

It would appear that Sir Alex has grown tired of such events generating negative publicity and has put his foot well and truly firmly down with a club source quoted as having remarked,

“It`s pretty much the end of the line for the traditional bash.”

“In recent years it was seen as more acceptable for private functions to get the green light rather than when the players went on bar crawls in the city.”

“But Sir Alex can`t even legislate for what goes on behind closed doors.”

“No one wants to be a killjoy but the players have a busy Christmas programme and this has been a situation of their own making.”

A wise move we`d like to add!
