Not too long ago it was being inferred that Dimitar Berbatov was the man for the future.

Having seen off any suggestions that he`d be sold last summer, the Bulgarian was quickly into his stride this season scoring goals with alarming regularity.

Indeed Dimitar is still our top scorer, but a top scorer who is not struggling to hold down a place in the starting eleven with Sir Alex Ferguson seemingly preferring to play Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney.

The situation seems to have alerted several clubs and the red-top publications are, this morning, reporting that two Italian clubs, amongst others, are monitoring the situation and could be looking to purchase Berbatov, those clubs being Juventus and Genoa.

Something tells me this one could run and run!
