When it comes to our young midfielder, Andreas Pereira, it is fair to say that we’ve only, when it comes to the Premier League, seen fleeting glimpses of what he might be capable of.
At 22-years-of-age, we’re approaching the point, in his career, whereby the player needs to convince the Old Trafford hierarchy that he does have a long-term future at the club.
To this effect, it is probably not too surprising that media speculation is starting to link the player with a move away from Old Trafford.
These rumours appear to have started in the Portuguese media, with the media vehicle UOL.Com, implying that three Premier League clubs, with Arsenal, Everton and West Ham United being mentioned as possible destinations.
Once again, the old adage about being caught between the devil and the deep blue sea springs to mind, Pereira wants more playing time, and, at the moment, Manchester United are not able to guarantee that will be the case.
Could Andreas Pereira leave Old Trafford this transfer window?
Once again, I guess only time will tell.
