There was a time, not too far back, when Wayne Rooney, wearing a United shirt, couldn`t stop scoring.

In fact, only a few niggling injuries saw his finally succumb to the challenge of Didier Drogba for the Golden Boot!

But, at international level, Wayne hasn`t enjoyed such a goal fest. If we look back through the records it`s September 9th 2009 that Wayne last scored for England, or converting that into a statistic, the striker who carries a nations hopes on his shoulders has only scored in 1 of his last 7 internationals.

Wayne does have a chance to rectify matters in the forthcoming friendly against Japan but does his current international drought faze him?

Apparently not!

Speaking after the 3-1 triumph over Mexico, Wayne had this to say,

“Of course I`d like to score but that`s the way it is. If it doesn`t happen, I`m glad it`s in a friendly and not in the World Cup.”

“Hopefully I`m saving them up for then, I don`t feel pressure, I try and give my all.”

A brace in that crucial first game against the USA would go down a treat Wayne!
