An interesting article has appeared in the Daily Telegraph.

It suggests that despite being bitter enemies during the period when a certain Jose Mourinho was encased in the Chelsea managerial position, the aforementioned Portuguese gentleman and our very own Sir Alex Ferguson are on much better terms now.

Although they may have shared the odd glass or two of plonk during Mourinho`s tenure at Stamford Bridge, the competitive nature of our domestic football was always going to make them fiercely competitive rivals and get in the way of a genuine friendship.

Not so now with the reference newspaper now declaring that Jose Mourinho considers Sir Alex Ferguson to be his best-friend in football.

Has a mutual respect fostered something far more deep and meaningful?

Stranger things have happened!
