After two seasons whereby Manchester United have failed to win any silverware, Wayne Rooney remains optimistic that next season will be different.

With Louis van Gaal now settled in the United hot-seat after a season in charge, the game-plan has been formulated, the squad tightened up and, if you listen to Wayne we only need two additions to make next season a glorious one with Wayne remarking to the media,

“I believe we will go far next year and won`t be far off challenging for the league.

“We have dominated and outplayed most teams this season but haven`t taken our chances. It could have been a different story if we had.

“If you look at the first ten to eleven games we only had around 13 points. And if you look at where we finished, it shows we could have been up here with a better start.

“The most important thing is that we believe we are close to challenging for the title and with a couple of signings in the summer we will have a good chance of doing that.

“A club like Manchester United should be winning trophies and hopefully next season we will put that right.”

Is Wayne right?

Will two more players give us that edge and consistency needed to claim the Premier League crown, or is more work needed?

Your thoughts would be most valued.
