TV Pundit Can’t See United Losing This One

|

With a gap of twelve points between the league leaders Manchester City and with Manchester United occupying eighth position in the table, this Saturday Manchester United cannot afford to do anything but take the three points on offer.

The opposition this Saturday, at Old Trafford, are Crystal Palace, a side that have struggled in recent games, having not won any of their last seven games and only managing to score four goals in the process.

It’d take a brave man to opt for anything other than a Manchester United win this Saturday, as long as the attitude is right, and complacency doesn’t rear its ugly head.

That is a view shared by the TV pundit, Mark Lawrenson, who, in his regular column for the BBC, has scribed the following about the forthcoming game:

“Crystal Palace have not won any of their past seven games in all competitions, and have managed just four goals in that spell too.

“So, this is simply a game that Manchester United have to win – can you imagine the furore from their fans if they don’t?

“It is one thing for United to be out-played and beaten by a team as good as Manchester City, which is what happened in the derby last time out, but it will not be acceptable if they slip up here.”

The former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland defender predicts a 2-0 win to Manchester United, am I the only one who thinks he may have gotten it spot on?
