With nobody arriving at Old Trafford, on the transfer front, since Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw arrived, the tabloid press has, kindly, provided an update on three fronts.

With regards to our proposed move to bring Sporting Lisbon`s Marcos Rojos to Old Trafford, it is being reported that a possible deal is being held up by the previously reported third party ownership problem.

Yesterday, transfer talk linked us with a move for the AS Roma centre back Madhi Benatia, although the talk from inside Old Trafford is that there is absolutely no substantiation in these rumours.

Lastly, there`s a snippet of an update relating to the Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, with it being implied that Manchester United are still maintaining an interest in signing the player but are closely monitoring his recovery from a knee injury.

Clearly, as far as positive news is concerned, much ado about nothing!
