There will come a time whereby one of us will have to concede the title.

Either Roberto Mancini or Sir Alex Ferguson will utter those dreaded words about the gap being too big to close and that the other side are worthy winners.

Now normally, that`d be when it becomes mathematically impossible to overcome the opposition but, after dropping two points against Sunderland on Saturday, Roberto Mancini has adopted an approach that belies the aforementioned thoughts.

Mancini has been realistic enough to suggest, in an interview,

“If we go eight points behind then it is finished.”

The gap could be five by tonight and with Manchester City set to entertain an in-form Arsenal, could this weekend see that eight point gap established?
