This German Defender Could Prove To Be A Good Acquisition For Manchester United

|

Okay, I will agree that there is some credence in trying to put together a young squad that will see Manchester United emerge, again, as one of the greats of the European game.

However, I cannot help but feel that the young squad has to be peppered with experience.

Before the season started, I watched on as one of our Premier League rivals, Chelsea, added youth to their squad with some expensive buys but then surprised us all by signing 36-year-old Thiago Silva.

But the experienced Brazilian has worked wonders for their leaky defence.

Which brings me round nicely to the crux of this article.

According to Sport Bild, Bayern Munich will not be offering their German defender, Jerome Boateng, a new deal when his current contract expires next summer.

Now Boateng is 32-years-of-age and some would say too old for any long-term plans, but like Thiago Silva, I am confident he can do a short-term job and bring some added experience to the club.

Cutting to the quick, I would support a move to bring Boateng to Old Trafford, but is that something you concur with?
