This Could Well Be Manchester United’s Year After Another Win Lifts Those Title Hopes

|

Yesterday, in the build-up to the Premier League fixture, against Aston Villa, I may have mentioned that a win would see Manchester United go joint top of the Premier League table.

However, I did issue a warning that it would be churlish to count our chickens before they had hatched, warning Aston Villa were a much-improved side compared to the one we saw last season.

As it turned out, it was an exciting end-to-end game and Manchester United emerged 2-1 victors, courtesy of a penalty from Bruno Fernandes that some say might have been contentious.

Sitting proudly, at the top of the table alongside Liverpool, there will, inevitably be talk of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer engineering a sustained title challenge this season.

But, in his after-match interview, as reported by The BBC, Ole concentrated more on the improvement he has presided over in the past year, as opposed to the title, with the gaffer remarking:

“You are always delighted with three points. The performance was good and we created chances.

“It was maybe a little too open and we wasted chances. We tried to play the Hollywood pass instead of securing the first one and using the space that was there.

“We are happy with what we are doing. We have shown we have improved a lot in a year. We lost to Arsenal away last New Year’s Day. We have improved immensely.”

Indeed, we have, but as the editor of this site, I feel it is my duty to ask the readership the following question:

Can Manchester United Win The Premier League This Season?

Yes!

No!

Undecided!

after all it would be rude not to!
