This morning, as I surveyed the morning press, the indication was given that a deal for Daley Blind was most definitely on the cards.

This afternoon, as I arrived home from work, it doesn`t seem as if Edwin van der Sar is at Carrington to discuss a potential move for the versatile Dutch international.

In fact the Ajax Director of Football, the former Arsenal player, Marc Overmars, is intimating that Manchester United have made no contact with Ajax over the player and that he`d only be leaving Ajax Amsterdam for a top price.

Talking about the situation Overmars is quoted as having remarked,

‘There’s some rumblings around Daley, some clubs enquired, but there is no concrete offer.’

‘Only if the absolute top price is paid is a transfer negotiable.’

It remains to be seen how Ajax define ‘top price` I`d say!
