The Cracks At Old Trafford Need Fixing Not Just Papering Over

|

At the moment, it really is hard to keep a smile on my face.

The 3-1 defeat, at the hands of Liverpool, has knocked the stuffing out of me.

Okay, I can handle the odd-defeat but the manner in which we were totally outplayed by Liverpool hurts.

Remind me again how much Jose Mourinho has splashed out in transfer fees since he took over the managerial hot-seat?

We’re a shadow of the side we once were, and it is going to be a long, hard road back.

After seventeen games, of the 2018 / 2019 season, we are a huge 19 points behind the Premier League leaders, Liverpool.

We sit in sixth place in the table, just one point ahead of newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers but a stark reminder of how bad we’ve started is that points-wise, we are closer to the bottom club Fulham than we are the top club, Liverpool.

It all points to serious questions as to the path we’ve taken, can Mourinho survive the inquisition that is sure to come his way?

Is Jose really the man for the job or should we be looking elsewhere?

These are rocky times for Manchester United Football Club, the cracks need fixing not just papering over, otherwise, it’s going to be a bleak few years.
