If Manchester United, as the rumour-mill has previously suggested, have ambitions of signing Morgan Schneiderlin, haste might be the order of the day.

The Southampton player, now 25 years of age, is rated in the £25 million bracket and is, supposedly, the long term solution when Michael Carrick retires.

However, the word from Southampton is that they`ve had no contact from Manchester United, leaving me to believe that the rumour might not have solid foundations.

But it is also being implied that Arsenal could be lurking with a view to doing a deal with Arsene Wenger said to be a long-term admirer of the French midfield player.

So if our interest is genuine, something I now have my reservations about, someone better get a move on!
