I’m afraid to say that it actually makes sense; even though if he really had as much respect for the fans as he claims to have, Tevez would sign for Chelsea but career-wise Citeh makes much more sense.

Because it now seems certain that he’ll join them as part of the new owners’ desperate attempts to regularly fill that soulless stadium they have. And there Tevez, who rejected the might of United, can be the hero, the number one, the saviour as it looks certain that Robinho can’t fulfil that role. But he might blossom with Carlitos.

At Chelsea, he would have been in the same situation as at United. So in the short term he made the correct decision. The wisest thing, however, would have been to move abroad: Tevez probably hasn’t realised yet that even though, as I said, moving to City makes sense for rational reasons, it is certain to do more harm than good in the long term. He might quickly become a forgotten man if he can’t live up to the aforementioned expectations…

And anyway, City is simply a hole for good footballers. Few could escape from that place with untarnished reputation…
