Reports in the tabloids this Easter Weekend infer that Sir Alex Ferguson has switched targets when it comes to signing a replacement for Edwin van der Sar.

Previously, United had been rumoured to be targeting David de Gea but it`s now understood that the young Spaniard is, currently, reluctant to leave Spain.

Therefore it appears, according to the media, that United are now casting a watchful eye towards the young Portuguese keeper, Rui Patricio.

Patricio, currently playing for Sporting Lisbon, is rated at £10.5 million but the paper reports that United have made an initial bid somewhere in the region of £7 million.

This could be a rumour to pay close attention to!
