Tonight, Manchester City are in South Wales, at the Liberty Stadium, to take on Swansea City in a 4th round League Cup tie.

Following the disappointment of losing against Huddersfield Town, on Saturday, Jose Mourinho will be looking for a big improvement on the shoddy performance the side provided at the John Smith`s Stadium.

Ahead of the game we have some early team-news for you to digest.

Starting with our hosts, Swansea:

Paul Clement is likely to give his midfielder, Roque Mesa, a start against Manchester United. Mesa was signed from the Spanish side, Las Palmas, in the summer for a fee of £11 million but has made only two starts.

Another midfielder, Renato Sanches, on a season-long loan spell from Bayern Munich, will miss out courtesy of a thigh injury.

Continuing with Manchester United:

Jose Mourinho, although he has a good record in this competition and with Manchester United being the current holders, has suggested that teams participating in European competitions should be allowed to opt out of the league Cup.

Bearing in mind the above, it is expected that Jose Mourinho will make numerous changes to the starting eleven, bearing in mind there is a crucial home game against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

With that in mind, we expect Mourinho to give starts to the likes of Sergio Romero, Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian and Danny Blind.
