Manchester United eased into the EFL Cup quarter-finals with a comfortable win.

It was United`s second visit to the Liberty Stadium this season, having previously won 4-0 there in the Premier League.

As expected, Jose Mourinho, having stated he thought clubs participating in Europe should be exempt from the competition, fielded a much-changed side, making seven changes to the starting eleven that suffered that defeat at the hands of Huddersfield Town.

Despite making so-many changes, United dominated the first forty-five minutes and were to go into the half-time break leading 1-0.

The goal came after a move involving Marcus Rashford, Ander Herrera and Jesse Lingard saw the latter finish with a shot into the bottom corner of the net.

The second and game-clinching goal, came from the same player with Lingard managing to get his head to a pin-point cross from Matteo Darmian after a great run from defence by the impressive Axel Tuanzebe.

Swansea, who also made numerous changes, offered very little going forward and rarely troubled United, with the Welsh side suffering their fifth defeat in six home matches this season.
