Surprising News Emerges Relating To Manchester United Defender

|

If you sat me down with a sheet of paper and asked me to write down the names of players who I expect to be shipped out of Old Trafford, this summer, then the name of Marcos Rojo would be on my list.

The 29-year-old Argentine defender has had a frustrating time, at the club, as of late and isn’t, in my view, set to be one of those chosen to carry the club forward.

That’s a view echoed by the Mirror who, in compiling a list similar to mine, have Rojo, Matteo Darmian, Romelu Lukaku and Juan Mata on their list.

But is Rojo’s departure that clearcut?

I’d, looking at the various media sources, would have to say no.

Today, another news source, the Express is running with the inference that the defender has been assured he has a future at Old Trafford whilst another news source, Sky Sports carries some interesting quotes from the player, quotes which read:

“For now I would like to stay at United.

“I spoke to the manager before the end of the season and we spoke about his plans for me.

“He said that I was in his plans, that I’m an important player and that he wanted me to return to full fitness, to be able to count on me in the first team. It’s now time to rest and spend time with my family before returning to England.”

Is anyone else as surprised as me?

Or does a fully fit Rojo have a future at the club?
