One prominent name was missing from the eighteen man squad selected for the fixture against Crystal Palace – Robin Van Persie.

It`s being suggested, by the tabloid media, that our Dutch striker was somewhat miffed at not being selected.

Ahead of the game it is reported that Van Persie missed a days training, as did others, after becoming a victim of the virus that, seemingly, swept through the camp.

However, it is also being reported that Van Persie trained ahead of the game and expected to be in the eighteen selected by Louis van Gaal.

The inference being peddled by the tabloid media is that this could be another indication that Van Persie could be heading out of the exit door this summer.

At thirty-one years of age and with just one year left on his contract, the fact that there have, so we understand, been no talks about a new deal further adds credence to the suggestion.

Are you of the opinion that Van Persie`s days at Old Trafford are almost at an end or does the Dutch striker still have enough in his locker to stay?
