Celtic manager Gordon Strachan is confident of beating Manchester United in the Group F clash on Tuesday night despite admitting the Reds are superior – but he warned his men to be aware of Paul Scholes’s fantastic talents.

‘He can score goals, hit crossfield passes, play one-twos, beat people and win headers in the opponents’ box,’ the Celtic boss explained.

‘So if you take that whole package I don’t think I’ve seen anybody as consistent – and he’s been doing that for 10 or 11 years.’

That’s true – but as Fergie has confirmed he would rest two or three players ahead of the Chelsea game, wee Gordon might be saved from worrying about Ginger Prince’s skills.
