Speculation Linking Manchester United To Their Number One Summer Target Takes Another Twist

|

Regular visitors to Vital Manchester will have been following our coverage of the chase to land one particular England international.

Our latest offering – manchester-united-is-there-any-truth-in-this-piece-of-enormous-transfer-speculation – covered the inference that Manchester United’s bid to sign the 20-year-old Borussia Dortmund striker, Jadon Sancho, was an all but done deal.

This morning, however, according to The Sun any such deal could depend on one thing, namely, Manchester United securing Champions League football.

If Manchester United fail to achieve that goal, then Sancho will not put pen-to-paper on a deal.

With United currently sitting in 5th position in the Premier League table, the club are outside of the top-four places that would secure that cherished Champions League place.

However, matters are complicated in the following ways:

1 – We’ve no idea if the 2019 / 2020 season will resume.

2 – We’ve no idea how Manchester City’s 2-year ban appeal will pan out.

3 – Another qualify place could be available if an English side wins the trophy this season.

Football, at the moment, is in a muddled state, none of the above questions can be answered with any certainty.

All we can do is sit tight and wait and see how it pans out, fingers crossed.
