After making a slow start to his Old Trafford career, our Armenian international midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has shown why Jose Mourinho was so keen to bring the player to Manchester United.

Having picked up a hamstring injury, against Saint-Etienne, in the Europa League on Wednesday evening, the team will miss his presence this Sunday in the EFL Cup Final, against Southampton, at Wembley.

As the build-up to the final starts to gather momentum, the Southampton manager, Claude Puel, has admitted that Henrikh`s absence is good news for his side.

When questioned at his pre-match press conference and as reported by the Daily Star, Puel had this to say when asked if Mkhitaryan`s absence will be a positive for his team,

‘Yes, perhaps.

‘But with all the good players they have in the squad, they can replace him with talented players.’

We do but Mkhitaryan brings that something extra that will, as we said earlier, be sorely missed.
