Solksjaer Admits it Didn’t All Go As Planned Against Brighton

|

After the fine win away to Tottenham Hotspur, last weekend, Manchester United welcomed Brighton and Hove Albion, to Old Trafford, this afternoon.

Ahead of the game, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer had spoken about wanting his team to give him something extra, against a team that, on paper, Manchester United were expected to beat.

In the end, his charges did make it seven wins out of seven, keeping the Norwegian’s 100% record intact, but Solksjaer, as reported by the BBC, was relieved to get the win, remarking:

“Sometimes you make it hard work. I thought we played some great stuff at times. At the start of the second half, we could have finished the game with great chances. But in any game of football, you are never sure until it’s over. Last 20 minutes we were in trouble.

“They do dig deep. The boys showed against Tottenham and today that we don’t give up and there’s a great team spirit.

“You can’t always play fantasy football. At times we did and it’s a great three points.”

It is and you start to wonder just how far this side can recover the situation this season.

Could a push for third place be beyond the realms of possibility?
