Has the door been pushed slightly ajar for United to add that final piece of the jigsaw to their squad?

With Ashley Young, Phil Jones and David de Gea having already signed deals, it`s intimated that Sir Alex Ferguson is looking at acquiring one last big signing.

Previously, the focus with regards to bolstering the squad has been on the midfield department with Samir Nasri Luka Modric and Wesley Sneijder all names banded about.

Off those three, Nasri is off limits with Arsene Wenger not willing to sell him to us, Modric appears to want to move across London to Chelsea, which leaves Sneijder.

It had been thought that a move for Sneijder would be a no-no with the player happy at Inter Milan and with Inter in no rush.

But the vibes coming from the tabloid press are now suggesting something slightly different with the inference that Milan could be willing to sell to balance the books.

It`s even being suggested that the recent acquisition of the Argentine midfielder, Ricky Alvarez from the Argentine champions – Velez Sarsfield, could be the catalyst that sees Inter decide to sell the twenty-seven year old for a fee in the region of £35 million.

Keep watching, something just might materialize out of nothing here!
