Not too long ago we mentioned that Sir Alex Ferguson might be mellowing!

After his five game touchline ban was handed out we sensed, in some of his comments that the fire had been turned down.

Now we learn that Sir Alex could be about to put an end to a feud that has lasted some seven years.

Ever since the BBC broadcast a documentary making allegations about his son, Jason, Sir Alex has refused to have anything to do with them.

Unfortunately, Sir Alex is dutifully bound to speak to them after matches, a failure to do so could invoke a fine, these fines (so far) are now rumoured to be approaching six figures.

But it looks as if a truce could be called with Sir Alex, apparently, agreeing to meet the BBC Chief Mark Thompson; it could be an interesting conversation. How I`d love to be a fly on the wall!
