Danny Simpson is on loan at Sunderland until the end of the season and the youngster hinted at the possibility of a permanent deal.

The 20-year-old Simpson is regarded as one of the brigthest prospects of the club but now it’s possible he would not make it here. Simpson is in awe of the chance of working with Roy Keane and seems to love Sunderland.

‘The manager here is a legend and to come and play for him was an easy decision,’ he admitted. ‘To come up here and get regular first-team football and to be around the first-team set-up with the manager and all the players was something that really appealed.

‘At the moment it’s just until the end of the season. But things change and you never know.’

I’m not happy to hear this as I believed he had a great chance of establishing himself as a first-team regular at Old Trafford. If he can’t make it, who will? Hopefully he was just talking out of courteousy to his beloved current boss. He’s an exceptionally talented lad and we should hang onto him I think.
