The Manchester United career of Bastian Schweinsteiger came to an abrupt end just recently when it was announced that the German would be leaving Old Trafford for a spell in the MLS with Chicago Fire.
The announcement also confirmed that the deal would be subject to a visa being obtained and the obligatory medical being passed.
Today, courtesy of the BBC Sport News feed, it has been announced that Bastian now has that reference visa and is set to leave for Chicago, on a flight, this afternoon.
The flight will arrive in Chicago around 18:30 local time and Bastian will be formally introduced at a press conference arranged for Wednesday afternoon.
Following his introduction at the aforementioned press conference, it is anticipated that Bastian will make his debut for Chicago Fire against Montreal Impact this Saturday.
