Yesterday, the internet was alive with the suggestion that Paul Scholes was about to embark on a managerial career.

But Paul Scholes, according to our article, Click Here, wasn`t going to manage just any old club, Scholes was going to manage the team he supported as a boy, Oldham Athletic.

Unfortunately, that doesn`t appear to be the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Today a different version of events has appeared.

This version suggests that Paul Scholes did hold talks with Oldham Athletic but they were not about filling the managerial vacancy.

Instead, according to BBC Sport, Scholes was merely talking to Oldham in an advisory capacity and has absolutely no interest in taking on the managerial role at Boundary Park.

It`s a shame as here at Vital Manchester United we were looking forward to see how Scholes would adapt to being a manager.

Perhaps that time will come, who knows!
