As we head towards the end of what, we reckon, will be a history making season, there`s still no official word on whether Paul Scholes will prolong his career by another season.

Scholes who will not participate in the action at the Emirates Stadium today courtesy of serving the last of a three match ban imposed for the red card he received in the FA Cup semi-final, is reckoned to be still thinking about the matter.

Sir Alex, who is already losing two experienced stalwarts in Gary Neville and Edwin van der Sar, has admitted that talks have been held with Scholes but wasn`t giving much away when he commented,

“I`ve had a few chats with Paul, encouraging him to stay on. We`ll see.”

Perhaps the decision may well hinge on how Paul feels he performs in the remaining few games; only time will tell.
