If anyone was hoping to see Manchester United on their pre-season tour in the US, the following might be of interest.

United`s fixture against the MLS outfit, , scheduled to be played on 21st July, has been moved to a new venue.

It will not now be played at the Cal Memorial Stadium, a venue which holds 63,000, instead it has been switched to the Avaya Stadium, a venue that holds just 18,000 but is the home ground for the San Jose Earthquakes.

Previous tours of the US and in particular the last one, have seen Louis van Gaal critical of the travelling time, last summer Manchester United were visiting five cities, this summer that has been cut to three and the rearrangement of the venue for the San Jose Earthquakes game, means United will be based in San Jose for over a week, July 20th until July 28th.

Now that makes far better sense does it not?
