It would seem as if European giants, Juventus and Portuguese champions Porto, will set out an all-out bidding-war for young Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi`s services next season.

Though it is unclear whether or not the 20 year old will actually go out on loan next season, what does seem certain is that if Rossi was to go, Juventus or Porto would most likely be his destination. Rossi, who started the beginning of last season on loan at Newcastle, before Claudio Ranieri (now of Juventus) took him to Serie A club Parma – ended the season on a high scoring an impressive 9 goals in 19 games for the Italian club.

Though this kind of form would usually merit a player a chance in the first team at Manchester United, the arrivals of Anderson and Nani have put a spanner in the works, and even though the talk of Smith contract situation fails to go away, you would have to see Rossi`s chances at United very few and far between next season, with Anderson, Saha, Smith, Solskjear, Dong and even Giggs vying for a place alongside Wayne Rooney.

Having said that, there is yet to be any official conformation on Rossi`s short-term future, and with the rumours of Anelka (amongst other players) seemingly untrue, for the time being this remains just a rumour. There is little doubt that Rossi aspires to make it Old Trafford one day, ‘United are my main priority. It’s where I want to be and where I want to play‘, and he is certain to be in Sir Alex`s future plans for rebuilding a new team, with players such as Giggs, Neville, Scholes and Solskjear nearing the end of the road, and exciting youngsters such as Nani, Anderson, Evans, Fabio and Raphael arriving.

However, might the temptation of pairing with former teammate Marco Marchionni as well as manger Claudio Ranieri be too much for the youngster, or will the lure of winning a Portuguese title sway his decision. One thing is for sure, whoever has Giuseppe Rossi next season, without doubt has an excellent player, full of potential.
