Wayne Rooney will not look back on 2010/2011 (so far) and put it down in his memories as one of his better seasons, from a personal perspective.

The transfer request saga alienated many and his goal scoring, such a feature of his game, has been poor to say the least.

Talking to the media, Rooney admitted as such, remarking,

“It`s been a difficult season for me – probably the worst I`ve had.”

“That week I asked for a transfer was something I wouldn`t want to go through again, but I feel I made the right decision to stay because this club is always going to be challenging for trophies.”

“I picked up a few niggles as well and missed a few games, so I didn`t really feel like I was playing a part. The good thing is that I feel fresh when most players are feeling jaded.”

“I really want to kick on from here and have a big impact on the most important matches of the season.”

The winning goal on Tuesday evening wouldn`t be a bad start Wayne!
