After missing Manchester United last home game of the season, our captain looks set to lead the side out at St James Park this Sunday.

It is being reported that Wayne Rooney has recovered from the dead-leg he received in the 1-1 draw with Arsenal with Louis van Gaal declaring at his pre-match press conference ahead of the fixture,

‘Rooney is available. He is captain, so he shall play.”

However, when it comes to David De Gea, there are fears amongst many that Manchester United supporters could well have seen the Spaniard pull on a United shirt for the last time, with Louis van Gaal remarking,

‘De Gea has trained today but only with our goalkeeper trainer. He still has a little problem so I want to wait a day longer because I want him to play against Hull City.’

Does that ‘want` come about because Louis wants the keeper to play a farewell game?

Well apparently not with Louis also indicating that,

‘I believe still that David De Gea will stay.

An interesting thought from the boss there!
