It`s a transfer possibility that just refuses to go away.

Today, one news source is offering up the inference that Manchester United could acquire Cristiano Ronaldo, for a second spell, in a rather illogical way.

The inference being peddled is that if Real Madrid can lure Gareth Bale away from Spurs, for a fee rumoured to be something in the region of £85 million, then the Spanish giants might have to tidy up their financial affairs by moving Ronaldo on.

Once again, the inference is there that United would be willing to offer Real Madrid the sum of £65 million plus a player, thought to be either Nani or Hernandez, in the hope of securing a deal.

But where this whole scenario falls down for me is that it infers that Gareth Bale is, purely because of the fees being suggested, a better player than Cristiano Ronaldo, something I`m sure you`ll agree is simply not true!
