Cristiano Ronaldo announced that he wanted to play for Real Madrid if they pay what they had promised to pay.

Speaking in Neuchatel, at Portugal’s training camp, he spoke of his desire to leave the club which stood by him after the 2006 World Cup and where he became almost a cult hero.

‘I want to play for Real Madrid, but only if it is true they are eager to pay me and Manchester United what they have been saying they will,’ he told Brazilian website Terra.

‘However, it does not depend on me.’

Well, mate, I have bad news: you’re right and it does not. It’s quite a cowardly thing to be honest, pikin’ off after two great seasons. You’re afraid of the prospect of proving whether you can keep up this form, Ronnie?

I resisted it until now, I must confess what I feel: I feel an urge to say that ‘fuck off, berk, if you don’t like it here’. I’m fed up of the whole thing, I’m tired: sell him for crazy money and buy three quality players from his price.

Of course, Fergie might want to keep him, in order to prove a point if nothing else. That would be satisfying though unnecessary: if Manchester United is not good enough for him, then so be it.
