Since the season ended, it is fair to say that envious eyes have been cast towards Spain.

The grapevine, occasionally, has been over-loaded with the suggestion that this summer is, so many believed, the ideal opportunity to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.

Quotes coming from Spain had previously implied that perhaps this summer Ronaldo could be tempted to leave his Spanish haven for a return to the club that made him great.

Off course we all knew the financial aspect of such a deal would be bordering on the excessive, but dreams are dreams are they not and we all want them realised.

However, words coming from the continent from the great man himself have kyboshed any such deal for now with Ronaldo claiming, in an exchange of words with the Portuguese newspaper Abola, any suggestions that he is unhappy at Real Madrid are unfounded and that he is very happy at the Bernabeu and is disappointed with the false rumours linking him with a move.

Well that`s that settled then, now how about Gareth Bale?
