Not if Gary Neville has hit the nail on the head.

Our former full back, Gary Neville, now working as a coach for the current England manager, Roy Hodgson, and as a TV pundit, has given the broadest hint yet that Rio Ferdinand doesn`t feature in Hodgson`s plans.

Neville, talking about the possibility of Rio Ferdinand possibly replacing the recently retired John Terry, is reported as having commented,

“Roy Hodgson has never said Rio will no longer play for England, and Rio has never said he won`t play.”

“But how many games had Rio played for Capello in the last 18 months? Three. He has not played regularly for England for two years.”

“Roy is looking to 2014. If Rio gets picked, it will be with him being one of the first names on the team sheet.”

Game over then we`d say!
