Sending Federicho Macheda out on loan was always going to be a good idea.

The young Italian needs to play regularly and not be looking for the odd outing in a United shirt.

Therefore sending him to Queens Park Rangers, where he`d get regular first team football seemed, at the time of the loan agreement, to be the right move.

Unfortunately, United were not to know that QPR were to undergo radical changes and appoint a new manager who`d be given the authority to purchase plentifully in the January transfer window with, amongst their acquisitions a certain England international in the shape of Bobby Zamora.

It sort of makes you ponder if, as the title suggest, it really was a case of right idea but, in hindsight, the wrong place!
