Are you sitting comfortably?

The reason I ask is that the following might shock you!

Manchester United`s interest in the Real Madrid defender, Sergio Ramos, is now well documented. According to reports coming out of Spain it seems that the defender has told Real Madrid that he wants to leave and the club have accepted that it is probably time to sell.

It has also been reported that Manchester United have offered £35 million for the defender and that Real Madrid turned the offer down flat.

Today it is being reported, in the Sunday press, Real Madrid want a staggering £63 million for their 29-year-old centre-back.

But, before we all through our hands up in the air in despair, it would appear that the excessively high value is part of the Real Madrid exit strategy for the player with, Manchester United expected to negotiate in a downwards manner.

Personally, I`d tell them it`s a maximum of £35 million or we`ll start looking elsewhere, we should not be held to ransom!
