Real Madrid`s almost incessant pursuit of the Manchester United goalkeeper, David de Gea, could be set to come to an end with the keeper remaining at Old Trafford.

De Gea, as everyone is aware, has been a target for the Spanish giants for several transfer windows, coming very close to signing for the Bernabeu side back in the summer of 2015.

However, according to the Spanish news source, marca, the reigning holders of the Champions League trophy, have settled for an alternative acquisition.

Our aforementioned source is of the belief that Real Madrid are close to signing the 23-year-old Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga.

In fact, the insinuation is that the deal could be done as early as the January transfer window.

If that is the case, it`s good news for Manchester United supporters who have feared that, one day, de Gea would make the move from Manchester to Madrid.
