Liverpool face Real Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League and this is really a dream draw for Manchester United.

On the one hand, there is Real Madrid – arrogant, hypocritical, sneaky. They use any means they can think of to lay their hands on the best players in the planet though they fail in their quest with increasing frequency. Everything that is despisable about modern football is embodied by Real Madrid. I’m never sad to see them lose.

On the other hand, there’s Liverpool who… well, who are Liverpool, I don’t need to say more. We all know that this is their year, and if not then next year is definitely theirs and if not… you get the point.

The downside is that one of these will be in the last eight. The positive thing is that one of them definitely won’t be. I’d say Real Madrid will go through, that would be my preference if I had to pick one of them. But really, neither would be missed from the competition.
