Last night tuning into the clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid proved to be an enlightening experience.

With Barcelona perceived as being the favourites to go through, Real Madrid, under the managerial skills of Jose Mourinho, produced a performance that will have given the watching Sir Alex Ferguson plenty of food for thought.

Real sat back, absorbed everything Barcelona could throw at them and then pounced, with great efficiency, to open up the Catalan side on the counter-attack.

More worryingly our ex-striker, Cristiano Ronaldo, showed that he remains the biggest danger to us progressing to the next stage of the Champions League with the Portuguese star scoring a brace.

Next week, at Old Trafford, could be one of the most enchanting fixtures for many a month but it could also be the most nail-biting we`ve witnessed for many a year, but let`s bring it on!
