The career of the young Manchester United striker, James Wilson, seems to have stalled.

There were high hopes that the 21-year-old would be able to carve out a future as a regular at Old Trafford a couple of seasons ago.

But, the chance to go out on loan to get some regular first-team football kind of back-fired.

Whilst Wilson was out on loan we saw the emergence of a certain Marcus Rashford, who arrive don the scene with a bang and hasn`t looked back since.

With the subsequent arrivals of Anthony Martial, Romelu Lukaku and the re-signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wilson remains well down the Old Trafford pecking order.

Today, there is speculation that Wilson could be heading out of the club in the summer with the local Berkshire newspaper, the Reading Chronicle implying that Reading, who are managed by the former Manchester United defender, Jaap Stam, are looking to secure his services on a permanent basis.

Could this be the right time to strike out and carve a niche at another club?
