After his amazing introduction to the Manchester United first-team last season, Marcus Rashford, following the signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has had to bide his time this season.

Yesterday, against Hull City, Rashford was given his chance to shine coming on as a substitute during the second half.

The teenagers` introduction gave United something extra and it was perhaps appropriate that the youngster was in the right place at the right time to net the winner, prompting scenes of wild celebration.

Speaking to the media afterwards, Rashford had this to say about his first opportunity this season and also scoring the winning goal,

‘Amazing. First away game for me this season and happy to get the three points and goal.

‘The fans came onto the pitch to celebrate and that is part of football.

‘I am getting on in training and waiting for moments like this.

‘It is being amazing being around players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic every day, I am learning a lot from them.’

Rashford will get further opportunities during what will be a long season and we all know the teenager will not let Jose Mourinho down.

But what did the boss have to say about Rashford`s contribution and also that of the team as a whole?

‘Marcus Rashford has a lot of chances waiting for him. When the team was chasing the ball against Leicester in the Community Shield and tonight, he made a difference for us.

‘He gives new problems to the opposition so I am really happy with him and the team. Even defensively, we controlled their counter attack.

‘We want to be champions, we don’t want to start well, we want to finish well.’

Three down and a maximum of nine points accumulated, things have started brightly for Jose Mourinho and Manchester United.
