Ramos Set to Pen Huge Real Deal

Any lingering hopes, if indeed there were any, relating to the possible capture of the Real Madrid centre-back, Sergio Ramos, are all but over.

Supposedly a summer long transfer target and Louis van Gaal`s preferred option to cure any defensive weaknesses at the heart of our defence, Ramos, as we feared all summer long, has no intentions of leaving his beloved Real Madrid.

Reports appearing in the Standard suggest that the Spanish defender, who is also a World Cup winner, will be putting pen-to-paper on a new contract at the Bernabeu, this Monday.

The new deal, said to be for five years, keeping him at his beloved Real Madrid until 2020, will see his weekly salary rise to £250,000 a week, basically tying him to the Spanish giants for the remainder of his professional career.
