The red-top press carries articles today that relate to those players that have been released by their clubs for one reason or another.

Amongst the plethora of names is that of Owen Hargreaves.

The tabloids take great delight in pointing out that Hargreaves has cost Manchester united circa £30 million when the initial transfer fee and salaries are taken into account.

They also harp on about Hargreaves having played for only 11 minutes since September 2008.

All are points that we`ll not argue with.

But what they neglect to point out that Hargreaves, when fit, was lauded as the best player in his position and that the former Bayern Munich ace has been extremely unfortunate when it comes to injuries.

Hopefully, that`s the record put straight!
