At his pre-match press conference, ahead of the Premier League fixture with Crystal Palace, Jose Mourinho confirmed our worst fears.

When our record signing, Paul Pogba, limped off after nineteen minutes in our recent Champions League game with Basel, the diagnosis from within the club was that the 24-year-old Frenchman would be absent for between four to six weeks.

Sadly, Mourinho has confirmed Pogba is likely to be absent for a lot longer than that but would put a time-scale on Pogba`s absence.

In entertaining the press, Mourinho simply replied when asked about Pogba that he,

‘Does not speak about long-term injuries’

Before adding,

‘I cannot have hope, like with Jones or Valencia who I can see in training and hope for a positive answer”

Not what we were hoping for is it!

But just how long will our influential midfielder be out for, that is the great unanswered question!
