Ji-sung Park’s injury is even more serious than it had been thought: he’ll be out until at least December.

The Korean winger suffered the injury on March 31, during our 4-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers. He scored on that day but had to be substituted.

His injury had been thought to be minor but later it has been revealed that he needed surgery. He underwent it and is still on crutches, although he is part of the United squad flying to Asia, just like new boys Hargreaves and Nani but unlike them, he won’t play. For a long time.

The unfortunate player, Sir Alex revealed might be out until January, meaning that he will play very little part in United’s next season. With players like Nani and Anderson secured, we have the cover for Giggs and Ronaldo so Park might have been surplus to requirements anyway – but this injury, if coincides with good form from the new players, could end his United career.

I have stated several times that I rate Park very highly but now I really don’t see where he would fit. He missed three months at the start of last season and then two at the end. Now he’s out for another six months – he’ll have one hell of a task if he aims to get back to the team.

Good luck to him, though.
